Day-trading setup with an AI copilot: routine from open to close
A practical day-trading routine combining TradingView, an AI copilot and risk management. Pre-market, execution and review.
Day TradingRoutineCopilot
Day trading without a routine is noise. AI speeds every step up, but only works if you already have a routine skeleton to plug it into. This is the setup that works well for the serious retail trader.
Pre-market (30 minutes)
- Daily macro check: economic calendar, rate decisions, releases.
- Copilot on 3 target assets in 1D and 1H — capture bias and levels.
- Set the maximum daily risk (e.g. 1.5% of capital) — non-negotiable.
Session
- Execute only pre-mapped setups. New setups go into the watchlist, not into trades.
- Copilot on 15m/5m for confirmation only — not to hunt entries.
- Mechanical stop, mechanical target. No “let it run” without a rule.
Post-market (15 minutes)
- Screenshot of each trade with a note comparing what the AI said vs what happened.
- Log R-multiple, not dollar result.
- One line per trade on execution or reading errors.
Classic mistakes AI amplifies if you don’t manage them
Overtrading (AI always has an opinion — you don’t have to trade it), FOMO on tickers outside the watchlist, and ignoring the stop because “the model changed its mind”. The copilot is a tool, not an excuse.
