Multi-timeframe analysis with AI: method, not guesswork

How to combine 1M, 1W, 1D, 4H and 1H readings using an AI copilot without ending up with contradictory signals across windows.

Technical AnalysisTimeframesStrategy

Multi-timeframe (MTF) is the difference between reactive trading and trading with a plan. The common mistake is reading each window in isolation and ending up with contradictory signals. A well prompted AI does not remove judgement — it enforces the correct hierarchy.

Timeframe hierarchy

  • 1M / 1W: macro structure. Defines the dominant bias.
  • 1D: operational context. Where the relevant supports/resistances live.
  • 4H / 1H: trigger. Entry confirmation inside the larger bias.
  • 15m / 5m: execution. Stop and target refinement.

What to ask the copilot in each window

Weekly and Monthly

Structural bias, distance to historical highs/lows, cycle context.

Daily

Recent candle pattern, reaction levels, distance to the 200-period moving average.

Intraday

Trigger, clear invalidation, minimum acceptable risk/reward.

Golden rule

Never trade against the immediately higher timeframe without an explicit thesis. If the 1D is in uptrend and the 1H shows a reversal, it is either a pullback within the trend or a topping structure — each reading demands different execution.
